Dreams and Goals — Week One

I am a week behind on getting this out, but we have been talking about Dreams and Goals at the Gypsy Den on Sunday nights.  For those who haven’t hung out with us, besides inviting you to join us, I wanted to let you know it is an open format where we all bring our thoughts and ideas to the table to work through things collaboratively. What follows are what stood out the most to me…

What is the difference between dreams and goals?

Here are some of the answers we came up with.  Many have been combined due to similarities.

Goals are tangible.  Something that you are actively fighting to achieve.

Dreams are a wish that your heart makes.

The Vision is the dream.  The Mission is the goal(s).

Goals are the work of the dream.

It is the difference between an aspiration and the steps required to get there.

Dreams are abstract.  Goals are measurable.

What goals do we have for 511 over the next 12 months?

Here are some of the answers we came up with.  Many have been combined due to similarities.

To continue on and grow.  See us invite more people.  Continue making new friends and cultivate existing friendships.

To find a space for Sunday meetings, art events, Saint City Sessions and various community education classes.

Catalyzing community and collaboration but incorporating a faith based dimension.

To develop a conference type event focused on immersion.  Letting leaders learn from the community.

Empowering people to reach their dreams.  Developing a collaborative culture of experimentation, innovation and action.

Please join us next week at the Gypsy Den as we continue talking about goals and dreams.
